‘Porta’ hardware range gains bold new addition
APL has launched the ‘Quattro’ handle, a new addition to its Porta family of pull handles. Quattro introduces a square-cornered pull handle, designed to meet demand for more robust, architectural profiles.
Designed and engineered in-house by APL Manufacturing, Quattro represents a continuation of APL’s commitment to innovation in aluminium hardware. Like the rest of the Porta range, it is manufactured in New Zealand from extruded aluminium, delivering exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.
The square-edged form delivers a refined, high-performance handle that combines visual weight with precise detailing, making it well suited to statement entry doors in both residential and commercial projects.
As with all Porta handles, Quattro incorporates APL’s engineered clip-fit installation system, eliminating visible screw fixings on both interior and exterior faces. This not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also reflects a considered, high-quality approach to hardware design and installation.
Beyond entrance doors, Quattro is suitable for sliding and hinged doors in all environments and is available anodised in Silver, Champagne, Black, Light Bronze, Medium Bronze and Dark Bronze finishes (25 micron), or powder coated to suit project requirements. These finishes provide a hard-wearing surface designed to perform in demanding New Zealand conditions, including coastal environments.
The Porta range continues to offer architects and specifiers a premium, locally manufactured alternative to imported hardware, combining durability with clean, minimalist design achievable through aluminium extrusion. Quattro is available through Altherm, First and Vantage manufacturers nationwide.
Five handle lengths are available - 300mm, 600mm, 900mm, 1200mm and 1500mm. As with other Porta handles, Quattro requires locks to be specified separately and operated via key or interior turn knob. Alternatively, a digital lock solution can be installed.
